My wife got me into David Allen's Getting Things Done. I've been listening to his 8 Disc audio Seminar.

..
You'll need no further proof than the above that this system works. An empty effin INBOX!

Now if you'll excuse me i've got To Do's, Actions and Projects to complete.

I listened to his stuff last year and then decided his system really wasn't for me. It got a little bit ridiculous with all the different folders for each day and all that stuff. I use some of his methodologies now but not to the extent of being obsessive compulsive as he suggests. Now if you follow Timothy Ferris' advice, you should only check your email once a week.

I haven't found that he requires a different folder for everyday as much as an "inbox" for where ever you're going. Work, while you're out and home.

Like he says it doesn't matter what system you're using as long as you have one that you stick to.

hahah have you listened to any Tim?

Huh. I should see about getting that for Frank. He NEEDS it! Any idea on the price? Or somewhere to get it that it's not out of stock? ;)

I decided to go with the book.. I think he's more likely to read something, than to listen to something. Especially since we'll have two long airplane flights this month! ;)

Thanks for the suggestion!!!

That would be great!

I'm hoping its a success... Hopefully this will give him a new prespective on how to get himself organized and actually a.) finish what he has started already, b.) start other things he wants to work on! He always has a humongous to-do list and I won't even get started on the amount of emails that accumulate. ;)

Totally reading that right now, I use OmniFocus on the Mac / iPhone with it, works real nice.

awesome!

i'm keeping things as low tech as i can. 3 journals for notes and projects and a portfolio that encompasses my lists. All reminders are done through txt messaging and Google Calendar.

I love google Calendar. I've been using it to track all my bills along with other things, and I have the Google Desktop Sidebar so I see my little calendar every time I'm on my computer.

And I know this response is WAY late, but I remembered this post as I was attempting to clear out some of my messages in my "junk mail" gmail account. I got it from about 1800 to 1300 unread messages that day. Gmail has to the best e-mail provider for sorting messages though.
